Amphibian and Reptile Information Web Rings

Looking for a good way to find new interesting web sites but don't know exactly what you're looking for? Then you may want to try bouncing around some different web rings.

What is a web ring? Well a web ring is a group of related sites that are all linked into a "ring." From this ring you can move to the next or previous site in that ring or simply jump to a random site in the ring. This lets you find new sites that are about the same topic as the site you are currently visiting.

There are probably thousands of different web rings out there. They cover all different kinds of topics from the technical to the arts and everything in between. One great place to find web rings is on Webring. Webring runs many of the web rings out there on the Internet and you can search through many of them at http://www.webring.com.

A quick search will reveal that there are many different web rings out there. Simply searching on reptiles will reveal about 25 different web rings out there. With a little digging you can find many more sites related to reptiles and amphibians and even more dedicated to just snakes, lizards, turtles, or even specific species.

The Western New York Herpetological Society belongs to a couple of different web rings. We currently participate in the Herpetological Society ring as well as the Herpetology Sites ring. In the future, look for more interesting web rings to be added to the list for you to navigate around.

The Herpetological Society ring is still quite small and does not yet have many participants. Hopefully over time more herp societies around the world will join the ring and make it an interesting ring to move around. As its name suggests this web ring consists of web sites of other herpetological societies and is a way to find other societies around the world.

The Herpetology Sites ring contains web sites that all have herpetology as their main theme. With this ring you'll find sites that cover many different aspects of our hobby and no two sites may cover exactly the same topics. If your looking to do some random surfing for different herp related sites this is a great place to start.
