The Western New York Herpetological Society, Inc. (WNYHS) requires that all animals present at the show be captive bred and non-venomous. All sales of live animals must comply with current New York State regulations governing the sale of reptiles and amphibians. The WNYHS reptile show staff reserves the right to ask any vendor to remove wild caught and/or venomous animal(s) from view and the vendor must agree not to attempt to sell the animal(s) in questions. If a vendor refused to remove wild caught and/or venomous animal(s), attempts to sell the animal(s) that have been identified as wild caught and/or venomous or must be asked repeatedly to remove the wild caught and/or venomous animal(s), the vendor may be asked to leave and forfeit his or her table fees. The WNYHS reptile show staff reserves the right to visually inspect all reptiles and amphibians offered for sale and reject those that appear to be in less than perfect health. Signs of ill health that WNYHS staff will be on the lookout for will include, but not be limited to the following: * Obviously malnourished or dehydrated animals (visible ribs or pelvic bones). * External parasites (mites and ticks act as vectors for many diseases and will not be tolerated) * Animals with raw, rubbed noses, skin lesions or other unhealed injuries. * Listless animals that sit with their eyes closed for extended periods and/or do not move without stimulation. * Animals that exhibit signs of bacterial infection such as pneumonia (wheezing and/or gaping) or mouthrot (gaping and/or swollen gums). Vendors that possess reptiles or amphibians with any of the above mentioned maladies will be asked to remove such animal(s) from view and must agree not to attempt to sell the animal(s) in question. If a vendor refuses to remove the unhealthy animal(s), attempts to sell the animal(s) that have been identified as unfit or must be asked repeatedly to remove the sick animal(s), the vendor may be asked to leave and forfeit their table fees. All vendors are responsible for their own tax requirements and should not expect the WNYHS to provide any assistance in complying with any local tax requirements.
