Adoption Success Stories
Green iguanas are one of the most common lizards surrendered at shelters and rescues because of their size and occasional temperament. Many people are not prepared for what the small lizard they picked up from the pet store (or worse, won as a prize) turn into as they get older.
Spaz was a "Rescued Rescue." The previous owner rescued him from someone else who was not taking care of him properly. While he is healthy now, he still bears the disfigured toes of improper nutrition and metabolic bone disease which is too common for many captive iguanas. His previous owner had to give him up because he was going off to college. Spaz fortunately found a great home in the Rochester, NY area.
